What is a convention and why can’t i vote like normal?

A convention is a political process that sends a select number of delegates from each county in a district to a central meeting to vote on behalf of all residents of their county and choose a nominee.

This year, the 3-member Legislative District Committee, which includes his recently announced opponent, met and voted to nominate our Republican candidate for the 97th House District in a convention, instead of the traditional primary.

No matter the process to nominate, the Peace Campaign is ready to work every day to win, to serve, and continue to get results for the 97th District.

No proxies and no absentee voting is allowed in a convention. You must be present to vote.

WHERE AND WHEN WILL THE CONVENTION OCCUR?

The convention will be held on May 4, 2019 at Hanover High School from 8am until around lunchtime. In order to attend, you must preregister above for your respective county by their deadlines.
